Chef Nookie’s Chimichurri Taking You Into the Weekend

If you follow us on Instagram (@backyardfarms), you know that Chef Nookie Postal of Commonwealth Cambridge took over our channel yesterday. Nookie spent part of the day behind his charcoal grill showing us some grill tips and how to make a delicious Chimichurri recipe.

Grilled Backyard Farms Chimichurri Sauce

4 Backyard Farms Beefsteak Tomatoes, grilled cut side down

½ cup extra virgin olive oil

1 bunch flat leaf parsley, washed, dried and chopped

½ bunch of cilantro, washed, dried and chopped

1 clove garlic, micro-planed (mince if micro-plane is not available – just don’t use the jarred stuff!)

Juice of 1 lemon

Red chili to taste

¼ cup jalapeno, minced


Directions: Grill your favorite piece of steak/chicken/fish and let the meat rest. Cut your Beefsteak Tomatoes in half, season with just a little olive oil and salt and grill cut side down. Take the tomatoes off the grill, cut into fours, and add cilantro, parsley, garlic, red chili, lemon, salt and olive oil. Mix it up, and you’re ready to add to your protein. As Nookie likes to say, “It’s a beautiful condiment for anything you make.”
