In a battle of Mexican cuisine versus BBQ fare, which would you choose?

We’re happy to say that now you don’t have to! We recently signed Chef Shannon Bard of Portland, Maine’s Zapoteca Restaurante Y Tequileria, and Chef Nookie Postal of Cambridge, Massachusetts’ Commonwealth, as our newest Chef Network members. Welcome to the team, Shannon and Nookie.

Shannon Bard is an innovative chef of two highly regarded restaurants as well as a wife and mother of five. A rising star of the New England culinary scene, she credits her family for inspiring her passion for authentic, seasonally influenced Mexican dishes with a bold, innovative flair.

Chef Bard is the recent winner of the Food Network's "Kitchen Inferno" and has appeared on “Beat Bobby Flay." She is also the author of a new cookbook, The Gourmet Mexican Kitchen.

Steve “Nookie” Postal is a dreamer - a “go big” kind of guy, a risk taker and do-er. For years he researched the perfect spot to open his first restaurant, Commonwealth, a restaurant/market concept serving good, honest, locally sourced food for lunch, dinner, and more, in Cambridge's Kendall Square.

Nookie’s career has traveled through the four corners of the Earth. In 2012, he was a finalist in “Around the World in 80 Plates” on Bravo network, circling the globe competing in culinary challenges in exotic places like Marrakesh, Florence and Buenos Aires. Previously, he served as Executive Chef at Boston’s landmark Fenway Park, where he worked for six years, during which the Red Sox won the World Series.
