The Greater Boston Food Bank Had A Super Successful January
This year, we proudly partnered with The Greater Boston Food Bank for their annual Super Hunger Brunch!
During the weekend of January 24th, hungry brunch-goers visited their favorite Boston restaurants to support this great cause. Every dollar spent on brunch at participating restaurants provided three meals for people in need in the Boston area. We look forward to seeing the results of this year’s Super Hunger Brunch in the next few weeks!
To support the cause, we enjoyed brunch at Grill 23 and Bar in Boston’s Back Bay area. Of all the amazing menu options, the House Smoked Pork Chili was one of our favorites. Jay Murray, Head Chef at Grill 23 and Bar, used our tomatoes for the recipe and said it involved a lot of preparation. We definitely think it was worth the hard work!
In addition to Grill 23 and Bar, there were almost two-dozen other restaurants participating throughout Boston. There were also in-kind donors, such as ourselves, Boston Magazine, Cabot Creamery and Garelick Farms that gave their own products and services to the participating restaurants to support the event.
The chefs and staffs at the participating restaurants put so much work into the weekend-long event, and it was a great opportunity for us to donate fresh tomatoes for them to use in their brunch selections. Plus we think it made the dishes even more delicious!
Last, but definitely not least, we owe a big thank you to all our fans for donating 5,000 lbs. of additional tomatoes to The Greater Boston Food Bank! It’s wonderful to see our community get together to support a great cause and we appreciate all your time and consideration.
It’s events like the Super Hunger Brunch and organizations like The Greater Boston Food Bank and the Good Shepherd Food Bank that make us excited to be part of such an amazing community. We’ve received so much support from all of you over the years and we like to give back as much as we can in return. Whether it’s your time, your money or your services, we thank you all for what you give back to our communities.
Together, we can all help to end hunger in our communities. If you missed these opportunities to support a great cause, and still want to help, we invite you to visit either The Greater Boston Food Bank’s or the Good Shepherd Food Bank’s website for more information on how to help.
