Backyard Farms Casserole
A casserole is a wonderful way to capture the flavor of summertime fresh Backyard Farms tomatoes.
Avoid the Fridge
Tomatoes like comfortable temperatures. The fridge's cooler temps cause them to lose their flavor.
Taking Care of the Little Things
When it comes to the environment, we believe little things make a big difference.

Our People
Our growers
John Secker
Head Grower Greenhouse One
John monitors the climate of the greenhouse and makes sure our tomatoes are warm and cozy year-round. He also checks the condition of the crop on a daily basis and the overall environment to maximize the quality and taste of the tomatoes. It’s sort of like a balancing act with Mother Nature—an act John has perfected over his 25-year career.
Tim de Kok
Head Grower Greenhouse Two
Tim is a fourth-generation grower. He enjoys being a grower because there are so many factors that influence the production, quality and produce size. Figuring out a way to make all those factors work is rewarding … and delicious.
John Dol
Harvesting and Packing Manager/Grower
John is in charge of the harvesting, packaging and shipping of the tomatoes. In short, he makes sure our tomatoes get to you fresh and tasty. John also played a huge role in the creation of our greenhouse. It was a lot of hard work, but he’s extremely proud of starting a greenhouse in an area where most people had never even seen one before.
Our Personal Gardeners
Our dedicated team of local gardeners tends to your tomatoes with a sense of pride. Gardeners cut and prune their rows and treat the plants as their own, checking their health on a regular basis. We then handpick the tomatoes when they’re red and ripe and whisk them off to the store—so that you can enjoy the freshest tomatoes possible.
